Official site of the 43rd Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of Asian Development Bank (ADB) to be held in Tashkent, the Republic of Uzbekistan from 1 to 4 May, 2010.
The forthcoming Annual Meeting, held for the first time in Central Asia, will be a significant event—not only for ADB members, but the world community.
Over 3,000 participants, including heads of governments, ministers of finance, chairmen of central banks, and representatives of scientific-research organizations and the private sector will discuss reforms to the global financial system and the development of Asia through the financial and economic downturn. They will coordinate the next steps required to implement Strategy 2020, ADB's long-term strategic framework initiated in 2008.
Along with official events, the Uzbekistan Organizing Committee has prepared a cultural events program to give Annual Meeting participants and guests the opportunity to acquaint themselves with Uzbekistan's cultural heritage and historical monuments, including the unique architecture of ancient Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara, and Khiva.
