Academic Lyceum of Westminster International University in Tashkent was established on December 9, 2008, in accordance with Decree # 270 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan. As it is stated in the Decree, the main goals of the lyceum are to satisfy the needs of real sector of economy for qualified specialists as well as train managers with profound knowledge of general and vocational subjects. The Lyceum is specialized in exact sciences with a focus on the English language and Mathematics.
The Lyceum is the first educational institution in Uzbekistan that was established in close cooperation with Westminster International University in Tashkent and provides specialized secondary education in line with National Educational Standards of the Republic of Uzbekistan. In their final (third) year of studies in the lyceum, the students have an opportunity to receive education in line with British National Foundation Qualification (NFQ) in Certificate of Foundation Studies Course validated by Westminster International University in Tashkent (WIUT). This course helps students gain knowledge and skills needed for tertiary education in international universities. The successful completion of this course enables the lyceum graduates to enroll directly to the degree courses offered by Westminster International University in Tashkent on self-funded basis.
The educational process in the lyceum is organized in close cooperation with Westminster International University in Tashkent. It adopts the same principles of integrity and quality, similar systems and regulations as those of the university, thus ensuring that the students of the lyceum receive high quality education and prepare themselves to continue their studies in international universities.
