Uzbekistan: State Committees

The State Property Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan (SPC) is a government body the main directions of which are further deepening of economic reforms, acceleration of denationalization and privatization processes, and provision of development and support of private entrepreneurship in the republic.

As one can tell from the name, main functions of the Committee consist of demonopolizing the national economy and supporting competition as well as entrepreneurship in order to provide high quality products and services at competitive prices. While supporting fair competition, the Committee also keeps control over consumer rights protection and advertising activities.

The State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Statistics is the executive body of the governmental authorities, which carries out a uniform policy in the field of statistics aimed at creating and functioning integrated progressive statistical information system.
