“You are not alone” (“Sen Yolg’iz Emassan”) children’ charity has been established in November 2002, at the initiative of Lola Karimova, aiming to support children in social need. It is noteworthy, that Uzbekistan, where the charity operates, is the most densely populated Central Asian country, with 45% of population under the age of 18. As of 2009, 3500 children in the country are orphan or deprived of parental care. They live in 28 Uzbek Mercy Houses for orphan children and 13 Baby Houses (for children aged 0-6).
